(MENAFN) Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) said that Saudi Arabia’s employment of women in retail stores has cost businesses over USD160 million in lost sales, according to Arabian Business.
New rules for hiring Saudi women have affected 25 percent of small and medium-sized shops as some had shut down, while others were considering closing their doors.
Saudi female employees are expected to be paid double the salary of an expat to fill business roles.
