(MENAFN) Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) will build two petrochemical plants through bids submitted by four international engineering companies, according to Arab News.
Two-plant project will be funded by bids from South Korea”s Daelim Industrial, France”s Technip, Spain”s Tecnicas Reunidas and Taiwan”s CTCI.
One of the plants is expected to produce up to 250,000 tons a year of methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA). The other will produce 40,000 tons of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
MMA is widely used in transparent resins, cast sheets, paints and adhesives.
