27 Dec 2011

(MENAFN) Shoura Council Secretary-General, Muhammad Al-Ghamdi, announced that the council agreed to increase minimum monthly pension given to retired public workers from less than USD800 to USD1066, reported Arab News.

The Shoura council discussed increasing minimum pension as it was reviewing the Annual Report of the Public Pension Agency (PPA). The decision was voted for on the seventy second regular session of the council and was approved by the majority of votes.

Al-Ghamdi stated that the increase shows the Kingdom’s appreciation to public workers and validation of their right to fair pensions.
