Saudi Tamimi Markets to launch 50 stores by decade-end

(MENAFN) Tamimi group’s head of development division, Fawaz T. Tamimi, announced that the supermarket chain plans to launch 50 new stores across Saudi Arabia by the end of the decade, reported Arab News.

Tamimi said that Tamimi Markets operates stores in Alkhobar and Riyadh and recently opened its first superstore in Hofuf in Al-Hasa.

He added that Al-Hasa has great potential due to its large population, quickly developing tourism industry and frenetic construction activity, noting that the group will open a second store in the area in the next 2 years.

The 3,500-sq m superstore on Khalid bin Walid Street in Hofuf’s Al-Salam district was built with a cost of USD14.93 million, it features over 40,000 grocery items and more than 500 items in produce department.
