(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia continued to be Dubai’s primary source of tourists as more than 5.8 million people stayed in Dubai hotels during the January-June period, Arab News reported.
The list of tourists include other countries such as India, the UK, the United States, Russia, China, Iran, Oman, Kuwait and Germany.
In the first half of this year, guest numbers across hotels and hotel apartments in Dubai reached 5.828.449 people, an increase compared to the same period in 2013.
The increase in numbers comes despite reduction in the number of flights coming to Dubai due to the refurbishment and upgrading of the runways at Dubai International.
“The figures for the first half of 2014 are encouraging, they also show strong growth from China, Brazil, Australia and many countries in Europe,” the Director General of Dubai’s Department of Tourism said.
