(MENAFN) Royal Dutch Shell has signed a deal with BP on Sunday to provide Kuwait with liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the following years, according to Arabian Business.
Kuwait had been supplied with LNG from Shell and Swiss-based trader Vitol in April to October period in the last four summers since 2009 to cover the growing demand.
Shell and BP have been contracted to supply Kuwait over the next 5-6 summers, said Jamal Al-Loughani, deputy director of marketing at KPC.
Kuwait will receive as much as USD2.5 million tons of super-cooled gas annually.
