Siemens wins USD 253m contract in Qatar

(MENAFN) German technology giant has won a USD253 million deal with Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The contract is for the construction of nine turnkey substations for Phase 11 of Kahramaa’s Qatar Power Transmission System Expansion project.

CEO of Siemens Qatar said: “Siemens has been a long-standing partner to Kahramaa and this contract strengthens our cooperation further.”

Under the agreement, Siemens is to provide gas-insulated switchgears (GIS), with voltages including 220kV, 132kV and 66kV, for the first stage of the Phase 11 expansion.
