(MENAFN) Chiefs at Sohar Aluminium said that Oman’s industrial companies are planning to train and support nationals to expand the country’s economy should pursue the concept of “intelligent Omanization”, Times of Oman reported.
The country’s industrial sector is the basis for its long-term development strategy, with the Vision 2020 launched for the period 1995 to 2020 in order to create a strong economic alternative for the future of the Sultanate other than oil.
Initiated in 2009, Sohar Aluminium has been awarded the fastest-nationalized company in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
The company was also considered as the best company for two years in a row (2011 and 2012), and has been bestowed the Excellence Award in Social Responsibility 2013 by the Arab Social Responsibility Organization.
