(MENAFN) Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Oman and Japan Cooperation Centre, Petroleum (JCCP) inked an agreement for a research project for mercury removal from natural gas at the country’s gas fields, Times of Oman reported.
The agreement is to promote cooperation between the two in technical development regarding petroleum and strengthen ties between Oman and Japan.
Prof. Amer Al Rawas said: “SQU assures full commitment to provide the expertise and facilities needed to ensure a successful implementation of this project. We trust that the outcome of this project will contribute to the natural gas field in the Sultanate and will strengthen the ties between the Sultanate and Japan.”
