(MENAFN) SSP CEO, Andrew Lynch, announced that the giant food and beverage operator inked a deal with Qatar Duty Free to operate stores at Hamad International Airport, the emirate’s new airport, reported Arabian Business.
Lynch said that the new stores will comprise several international brands as well as a selection of its own concepts.
He added that the stores will start trading before the end of the year, whereas over a period of 7 years, the project, the company’s first in Qatar, is expected to be worth USD190 million.
According to Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker, SSP stores will offer services to a varied customer base, visiting or flying through the airport, which is set to become fully operational by the end of 2013.
It is worth noting that Hamad International Airport will be officially opened on the first day of the coming month.
