(MENAFN) US-based Starwood Hotels and Resorts unveiled plans to launch new hotels across the Middle East by 2015, Hotelier Middle East.
President Roeland Vos said the hotel chain plans to open 30 hotels across the Middle East in the next two-to-three years, a 60% growth in the region. Vos added that Starwood would be a focus on the St Regis and W brands.
The St Regis brand was first introduced in the region in the Saadiyat Island property in November 2011, and the firm is on track to open the St. Regis Doha in March as well as the St. Regis Abu Dhabi in August.
New W hotels coming to the region include W Amman Hotel January 2014, W Muscat January 2014 and W Abu Dhabi January 2013.
Vos also unveiled plans to debut its “Element” brand in Muscat in 2016. An Element planned for Abu Dhabi Capital Centre was put on hold at the end of 2011.
