Steel prices up 4.8% in Abu Dhabi in June

(MENAFN) Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (Scad) stated in its report on the prices of building materials in the UAE’s capital that in June, steel prices rose by 4.8 percent from the previous month, reported Khaleej Times.

It said that prices of wood rose 2.6 percent during the month, while prices of concrete went up by 2.1 percent and cement by 0.8 percent, moreover, prices of transport equipment rentals edged up 0.5 percent.

Nonetheless, in the month, prices of construction labor dropped by 10.1 percent, with prices declining 6.3 percent for semi-skilled workers and 14.3 percent for electricians.

It is worth noting that prices of aggregates and sand went down by 7 percent in June from May.
