(MENAFN) Amid its fight against uprising within its borders, Syria has entered deals with Iran, the other nation troubled by Western and international sanctions, Reuters reported.
A Syrian economic delegation visited the Islamic Republic recently and signed deals with Iranian officials on electricity exports from Iran to Syria, citing semi-official Fars news agency.
Iran’s energy minister, Majid Namjou, said that Tehran was willing to aid Syria to reconstruct damaged facilities such as power plants.
Under one agreement, Iran will export 50 megawatts of electricity to Syria through Iraq. The two countries will also partner in waste and water management, Iran’s Press TV reported.
