03 Jan 2012

(MENAFN) Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) issued its Annual Statistics Report that showed that total market capitalization in 2011 dropped by 4.12 percent, year on year, hitting USD338.6 billion, reported Arab News.

The report states that as the index closed 6,620.75 points at the end of last year, it closed at 203.02 points by the end of 2011.

The index had its best closing last year back in January at 6,788.42 points.

It is worth noting that analysts pointed out the world and regional financial crisis as obstacles that restrained investors in 2011, leading to lower performance in the Saudi market.
