(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi’s Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) has awarded National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and French Technip a contract for the Upper Zakum field, Technip said in a press release.
The contract includes a lump sum engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and start-up contract for the field.
The field is located in the Gulf, 84 kilometers offshore Abu Dhabi. It is divided into four production artificial islands (Central, North, South, and West), with processing facilities at the Central Complex.
The consortium’s scope of work includes building subsea pipelines and installing offshore facilities. The project is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2015.
The contract also comprises finishing initial production facilities for temporary wells hook up to serve initial production distributed amongst the North, South and Central islands.
Technip will be responsible for the implementation of the overall engineering and participate in procurement, on-island works, cable installation and initial production.
