Tenders for Oman’s Salalah, Quriyat plants to float in April

(MENAFN) Tenders for the construction of the Salalah power plant and the Quriyat desalination plant in Oman are expected to be floated in April. Times of Oman reported.

CEO of Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) said: “The pre-qualification has already been done in 2013 and we are expecting to issue the request for proposal (RFP), the actual tender, for the project in April.”

He added that construction work for the projects will commence in 2015

The plant will have a capacity of 300 to 400 MW and it is expected to start operation in early 2018.
