(MENAFN) Japanese automaker giant Toyota Motor Corp. reported 10 percent increase in sales in the Gulf region during the first six months of 2013, Arabian Business reported.
Toyota sold a total of 310,761 vehicles in the region during the January-June period, led by its SUV category.
SUV sales rose by 15 percent in the first half of this year to 23,737 units sold in the Gulf region compared to a year earlier.

The Land Cruiser continued to lead the segment in the Gulf region with 35,634 unit sales, the statement said.
Toyota also said sales in the Levant and Yemen showed 39 percent growth.
The Corolla, one of Toyota’s best-selling models, sold 44,114 units in the GCC during H1 to post a 22 percent growth in sales, the car maker added.
