(MENAFN) Kuwait’s trade surplus expanded for the first time in a year in Q2 of this year, amid a healthy bounce in oil prices, while it remains at historically low levels.
Moreover, the surplus expanded from KD0.4bn in Q1 of this year to KD1.2bn in Q2, as a pickup in oil prices helped push oil exports earnings higher.
Additionally, oil export revenues also rose from KD2.4bn in Q1 this year to KD3.2bn in Q2 in the recent year.
Capital and industrial goods also saw a double digit growth, reflecting the government”s improved application of its development projects.
