(MENAFN) Shipping traffic in Abu Dhabi Ports Co (ADPC) is expected to see a significant rise in 2014 as implementing infrastructure projects in the United Arab Emirates is growing fast, according to Arabian Business.
Container traffic at Khalifa Port is expected to boost by 22 percent this year to reach 1.1 million twenty foot equivalent units (TEUs) compared to 905.000 TEUs in 2013.
Traffic of general and bulk cargo at UAE’s Khalifa and Zayed ports is forecasted to exceed 12 million tons in 2014 compared to 9.3 million tons last year.
Chief executive of ADPC Mohamed Juma al-Shamisi said: “It is going to be a big jump but all the givens that we have at the moment are pointing towards it.”
