(MENAFN) Tunisia’s government eyes the approval of a USD500 million loan tranche from the IMF, according to the Peninsula Qatar.
Tunisia’s government discussed the plan with the IMF in a meeting this month as strikes started in the southern and central towns of Kasserine, Thala and Gafsa on Tuesday.
Despite the strikes, Tunisia’s ruling Islamists hope that they have persuaded the IMF to approve the USD500 million payment.
