(MENAFN) Tunisia’s minister of investment and international cooperation, Riadh Bettaib, stated that the country will be receiving a USD500 million loan from the World Bank (WB), reported Khaleej Times.
The minister said that the loan will be used to support the North African country’s budget and aid its economy.
In November 2012, the bank had also endorsed a similar loan to Tunisia to enhance the business and the financial sectors and to restructure social services.
It is worth noting that as 2 years have passed since the revolution, growing numbers of Tunisians are protesting in the streets, demanding jobs and economic development.
