14 Nov 2016

(MENAFN) Tunisia’s trade deficit has deteriorated amid the Jan-Oct period of this year to USD4.76bn compared with 10.237MD in the same period of 2015.

Therefore, import coverage by exports dropped by 0.5 percentage points to 68.4 percent from 68.9 percent in the same period of 2015.

Additionally, this trade deficit is due to the deficit registered in the energy balance at 2.672.5MTD compared to 2.947.8MD in 2015.

Meanwhile, energy imports declined to 20.8 percent, due to lower purchases of crude oil and basic agricultural products.
