UAE CB posts 0.45% rise in Q1 financial transactions

(MENAFN) The Central Bank of the UAE stated that the number of financial transactions executed via the UAESWITCH during the first quarter rose by 0.45 percent to 16.898 million from 16.821 million in last year’s fourth quarter, reported Gulf News.

Meanwhile, the total number of financial deals carried out through connections of the UAESWITCH to the GCC Switches jumped by 23.34 percent.

The figure reached 1.120 million transactions, from 908,000 transactions in 2012’s last quarter.

It is worth noting that the total value of these financial transactions grew by 25.24 percent to USD489.4 million, compared with USD390.8 million.
