(MENAFN) More than 2.53mn consumers in the UAE have been victims of online crime in 2015 as hackers took advantage of consumer satisfaction.
Accordingly, despite spending more than USD1.4bn and an average of 31.5 hours per victim, UAE consumers affected by cybercrime will continue engaging in risky online behavior.
Meanwhile, Millennial in the UAE are the most affected by online crime, with 53 percent experiencing it amid the last year, while men and frequent travellers reported higher cybercrimes.
However, consumer complacency and risky online behaviors are helping hackers reap rewards from their efforts as they continue to improve their craft and adapt scams.
