UAE Dnata eyes entry into Angola market

10 Dec 2014

(MENAFN) Dnata, an Emirates Group subsidiary, announced it has begun talks with Angolan authorities to launch airport ground handling and catering services in the African country, Gulf News reported.

The company said that these talks are part of a contract signed by Emirates airline with the government for a ten-year management of Angola’s national airline, which operates a hub in Luanda, the capital, and flies to around eleven other cities in the country

Dnata currently offers services at airports in 16 different countries across the world from Australia to the United Kingdom, but said that it is seeking to expand its presence in Africa since it just offers its services in one African country, South Africa, where it offers catering services at two airports.

“We are looking to see how we can work with the authorities there on ground handling and catering so that would be ramp, passenger, [and] cargo [services], and potentially in-flight catering,” Dnata’s President said.
