08 Apr 2015

(MENAFN) The Economy of the United Arab Emirates is set to save an annual sum of around USD1.9 billion by the year of 2030, mainly driven by systematized energy savings techniques, Gulf News reported.

The country will endeavor to achieve this prolific annual savings by generating 10 percent of renewable energy in its total energy supply, in addition to 25 percent in the power sector, according to a report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena).

“The UAE’s strategy of innovation and diversification has placed it at the fulcrum of the massive transformation of the global energy landscape that has already begun,” Irena director-general said at a ceremony held in the UAE.
