(MENAFN) Etihad Airways’ president and CEO, James Hogan, stated that on January 5, the carrier hit a new record high in the number of passengers it lifted in a single day, reported Arabian Business.
Hogan said that during that day, the airline carried 33,802 passengers, beating a record of 33,766 passengers recorded on July 14, 2012.
He added that other days also entered the carrier’s top 10 ranking for busiest ever days, with 32,622 passengers and 32,918 passengers flying on January 3 and 4, respectively.
Moreover, flights across Etihad’s network were 89.2 percent full on January 5 and 88.1 percent full on January 4; with the two dates entering the airline’s top 10 for highest ever load factors.
It is worth noting that in 2012, Etihad Airways’ passenger traffic grew by 1.88 million passengers from 2011, to a total of 10.29 million.
