(MENAFN) Etihad Airways’ Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, Kevin Knight, stated that in October, Etihad Cargo, a division of the UAE carrier, saw a 15 percent rise in cargo growth from a year ago, to 32,500 tons, reported Khaleej Times.
Knight said that the gain was driven by the strong demand for freight services in the Asia Pacific region, the Subcontinent and the UK.
He added that during the third quarter, Etihad Cargo carried 93,560 tons, representing a rise of 18 percent from the 79,378 tons posted in last year’s same period.
It is worth noting that the airline, which flies to 86 destinations worldwide and has a fleet of 6 freighters, carried 31,800 tons of cargo in September.
