(MENAFN) Etihad Airways chief strategy and planning officer, Kevin Knight, stated that the company’s cargo unit will launch direct weekly freighter operation to Guangzhou, China’s third largest city, reported Emirates 24/7.
Knight said that Etihad Cargo will operate the new service on Thursdays via an Airbus A330-200F freighter, with a capacity of 68 metric tons.
The Chinese city is considered a major hub for the manufacturing of electronic goods.
He added that the service is Etihad Cargo’s third gateway in the Asian country, as the firm already operates 9 weekly freighter services between Abu Dhabi and China’s Shanghai and Beijing cities.
The latest addition is expected to boost trade ties between the UAE and China.
