(MENAFN) Research firm Nielsen revealed that in 2012’s fourth quarter, consumer sentiment in the UAE remained high, with the country’s confidence index at 113, reported Emirates 24/7.
Nielsen said that the figure ranked the UAE as the highest in the region and the fifth highest in the world, even though confidence dipped by 1 index point from the previous quarter.
The firm’s survey also shows that Saudi Arabia’s confidence index also slipped by one index point in the quarter from the third quarter, nevertheless, it stood at 112.
The survey, which covered 58 countries in Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Africa and North America, unveiled that consumer sentiment declined in 4 of 6 markets in the Middle East and Africa region in the quarter.
It is worth noting that Indian consumers were the most confident globally, whereas Greek consumers ranked at the bottom of the list.
