(MENAFN) Sharjah Airport Authority’s director-general, Ali Salim Al Midfa, stated that last month, the number of passengers who used Sharjah International Airport rose 9.45 percent, reported Khaleej Times.
Al Midfa said that 657,153 passengers used the airport during the mentioned period, mainly due to the beginning of vacations.
He added that aircraft movements went up by 2.49 percent to 5,472 movements, compared with 5,339 in last year’s same period.
It is worth noting that in July, Sharjah International Airport handled 44,792 tons of cargo, with the Sea-Air Cargo throughput growing by 3.96 percent to 3,863 tons, from 3,716 tons in 2011’s same period.
