(MENAFN) The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority’s (SCTDA) Chairman, Mohamed Ali Al Noman, announced that during 2012’s first quarter, the number of Saudi tourists who visited the emirate exceeded 65,000 tourists, reported Gulf News.
Al Noman said that Saudi represents the emirate’s second-biggest market after Europe in terms of the number of tourists.
He added that in 2011, Saudi visitors reached more than 99,000, accounting for the bulk of the 381,625 GCC tourists who came to Sharjah during the period.
It is worth noting that GCC tourists represented 24 percent of the total number of visitors who arrived to Sharjah a year ago.
