(MENAFN) Airbus, part of the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company N.V. (EADS), forecasted UAE to become the world’s third single biggest market for new aircraft deliveries with total orders worth USD223.9 billion by 2031, Arabian Business reported.
In its report, the planemaker said that the UAE would take delivery of 882 aircraft in the next 20 years.
The report has also estimated that the Middle East would take 23 percent of total 1,700 Very Large Aircraft like the A380 to be delivered by 2031 at the value of USD600 billion.
Dubai is currently the world’s busiest airport for A380s, followed by Singapore and Frankfurt, according to the report.
The report has estimated global demand to hit 28,198 passenger and freighter aircraft between 2012 and 2031 worth nearly USD4 trillion.
China is expected to be the world’s largest aircraft market with new orders worth USD634 billion, followed by the US at USD544 billion.
