UAE, US discuss ways to boost trade

(MENAFN) The bilateral trade and investment relations between the UAE and the US registered an increase in their non-oil trade, reaching USD26.9 billion in 2013, and the two countries are discussing to strengthen the trades between them, Emirates 24/7 reported.

The US and the UAE have a strong existing economic and commercial partnership between them and the UAE is currently in the lead among MENA region as the largest export market for US goods and services.

Meanwhile, trade between the two countries has helped create more than 200.000 jobs in the US since the UAE is the largest recipient of the US exports to the Middle East, while the UAE’s total investments in the American economy grew to more than USD21 billion.

“The US accounts for the world’s biggest global corporations and the strongest innovation and technology organizations. We will aim to forge strong partnerships that boost the UAE’s knowledge credentials,” the UAE Minister of Economy said.
