(MENAFN) Dubai Duty Free (DDF) said that in 2011, sales of the world’s largest travel retailer jumped 15.69 percent over 2010 to reach USD1.44 billion, reported Gulf News.
It added that in the year, more than 22.4 million sales were made at DDF, with an average of over 61,000 a day, adding that sales were led by perfumes category, which recorded an increase in sales of 22 percent year-on-year to USD218.5 million.
It also said that sales of liquor came second with a rise of 18 percent from 2010 to USD202.5 million, followed by gold, which sales jumped 20 percent year-on-year, reaching USD160.8 million.
It is worth noting that sales in December set a new record, hitting USD160 million in monthly sales.
