(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (Dewa) Managing Director and CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, said that the company started a new USD26 million water pipeline project, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Tayer added that the construction of the project, which would include supplying, extending, testing and commissioning the main water pipeline, would take around 2 years to complete, adding that the project would boost Dewa’s water network infrastructure efficiency and operational capacity to transfer water to economically-important areas.
He also said that the 900mm and 1200mm water pipeline would be 17km long, and would be made of reinforced fiberglass.
It is worth noting that the new water pipeline will extend from the main water pumping station at Al Quoz, passing the Camel Race Course road to Business Bay, between Al Doha Road and Al Khail Road.
