UAE’s DIFC adds 56 registered firms in 2011

(MENAFN) The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) said that in 2011, it added 56 active registered firms compared with the previous year, reported Emirates 24/7.

The DIFC added that the total number of active registered companies in DIFC at the end of 2011 reached 848 firms from 792 in 2010, of which 322 were regulated, 423 were non-regulated, in addition to 103 retailers.

On the other hand, at the current time, the DIFC is home to 21 of the world’s top 30 banks, 6 of the world’s 10 largest insurers, 6 of the top 10 law firms and 8 of the top 20 money managers.

It is worth noting that the number of employees working at the DIFC is 12,000.
