UAE’s du selects Alcatel-Lucent to provide high-speed 100G optical network

(MENAFN) UAE’s telecom operator du stated that it has chosen Alcatel-Lucent to set up phase 2 of a high-speed 100G coherent optical transport network throughout the Arab country, reported Gulf News.
The company added that due to the competence of OTN sub-wavelength grooming, it will be able to support the flourishing growth of data traffic generated by the increase of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets, with inexpensive methods.
Furthermore, the transport network will allow the UAE firm to considerably increase the speed and capacity of its network.
