(MENAFN) Emaar Properties’ Chairman, Mohamed Alabbar, said that the company would increase the size of Dubai Mall, through adding more than 1 million square feet, reported Khaleej Times.
Alabbar added that the expansion would include new hotel rooms, in addition to entertainment and lifestyle choices.
He also said that at the current time, the 12 million square feet development has more than 1,200 stores and 160 F&B outlets.
On the other hand, he said that in 2011, the mall hosted over 54 million visitors, to become the world’s most-visited shopping and leisure destination.
It is worth noting that The Dubai Mall, which is located in Downtown Dubai, is one of Emaar assets.
