(MENAFN) Etihad Airways’ president and CEO, James Hogan, announced that the carrier has launched a new maintenance facility at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, its first in the US, reported Arabian Business.
Hogan said that the base will carry out all scheduled and non-scheduled line maintenance for Etihad’s daily Boeing 777 planes flying from Abu Dhabi to Chicago.
He added that the facility will also offer lines maintenance services for the new Airbus A330 Chicago flights, operated by airberlin, in which Etihad has around 30-percent stake.
It is worth noting that the maintenance services at the Chicago base, Etihad’s seventh outside the UAE capital, will cover transit, daily and weekly checks, scheduled engineering services, and fault repairs for aircraft systems and cabin issues.
