(MENAFN) Etihad Airways’ CEO, James Hogan, said that the carrier started its codeshare flights with China’s Hainan Airlines, reported Emirates 24/7.
Hogan added that the deal, which was Etihad’s first ever codeshare with a Chinese carrier, allows Hainan to replace its HU code on the UAE company’s operated flights between Abu Dhabi and the airline’s 3 gateway cities in China: Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai.
Moreover, the contract also extends to Etihad flights to Khartoum International Airport in Sudan.
It is worth noting that Etihad plans to continue exploring opportunities for collaboration with Hainan Airlines and in particular, to include more destinations on each other’s networks over time.
