UAE’s RAK FTZ reports 4% gain in H1 new registrations

(MENAFN) Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) stated that in the January-June period, the number of new firm registrations rose 4 percent from a year ago to 1,145 companies, reported Khaleej Times.

RAK FTZ said that revenues generated from the registrations grew 10.21 percent to USD33.62 million, up from USD30.51 million in 2011’s same period.

According to the audited report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), 62 percent of the newly registered firms represent the commercial sector, while 28 percent represent consulting and 9 percent general trading.

It is worth noting that the majority of the new registered firms in RAK FTZ came from India, the UK, Jordan and Pakistan.
