(MENAFN) The United Arab Emirates’ Sharjah is set to add a new USD100 million five-star resort to its luxury hospitality sector by the year of 2018, Emirates 247 reported.
The Emirate is presently considering the notion of welcoming a total of 10 million tourists by the year of 2021, aided by the new project dubbed Majlis Grand Mercure, which will have 234 rooms.
“Sharjah is targeting 10m tourists by 2021. To sustain this growth in numbers, we will be increasing the room inventory from 10,000 to 15,000 rooms,” the Chairman of Sharjah Commerce Tourism said.
