UK firms aim further opportunities in Qatar

(MENAFN) Qatar is the UK’s third largest export market in the MENA region, while in 2016, UK exports to Qatar reached to almost QR11.2bn posting an increase of 21.7 percent compared to 2014.

Additionally, the Qatari government also has more than QR140bn in investments in the UK, which involves shares in BAA, Sainsbury, Barclays, London Stock Exchange and others.

Recently, Qatar proclaimed that it will invest QR23.5bn in the UK economy amid different investment funds and relevant parties in Qatar over the coming 3-5 years.

As part of its ongoing co-op with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), QFC representative also invited attendees to explore the investment chances in Qatar’s tourism sector.
