(MENAFN) Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, approved a five-year plan for the construction of internal roads at several Dubai residential districts with a cost tag of USD272.2 million, Khaleej Times reported.
The plan spans 16 districts, Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said.
He added that the plan would start in areas where urban development is 50 per cent, and water drainage system and sewage systems had been completed at a cost of USD40.8 million, scheduled to start next year.
He indicated that phase 2 would start in 2013, phase 3 and 4 would start in 2014 and phase 5 would start in 2016.
