USD3.2B Cost of Abu Dhabi airport new terminal

(MENAFN) The holding company’s CEO Tony Douglas said that construction work on the new terminal building at Abu Dhabi international airport will be over in 3 years and ready to operate in September 2017 at a cost of USD3.2 billion, Arabian business reported.

Addressing at a conference held to announce opening date Douglas said to journalists: “By 2017, Abu Dhabi Airport will open its midfield terminal, which will be very much a highpoint in airport infrastructure anywhere in the world.”

The Government of the UAE capital has cast its weight into development projects aim at expanding and rehabilitates the airport to compete with its rival Dubai and the new terminal comes in a series of other broader USD6.8 billion redevelopment plans of the airport which will also include a new arrivals hall.

Its’ worth noting that the current capacity of the airport is 12.5 million passengers a year.
