USD93.20m spent on biotechnology research projects in Saudi

(MENAFN) King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology’s (KACST) chief of research, Prince Turki bin Saud bin Mohammad Al-Saud, stated that in the past 3 years, the country has spent USD93.20 million in research projects in the field of biotechnology, reported Arab News.

The Prince said that at the current time, KACST is engaged in a number of local and international bodies to develop biotechnology in the country.

He added that the amount spent on research represented 25 percent of the total strategic technology projects implemented by the national plan for research projects.

It is worth noting that Prince Turki’s remarks came during the inauguration of the Saudi International Biotechnology Conference at the KACST headquarters in Riyadh, which was attended by international speakers from the US and Japan and nealry 500 local delegates.
