(MENAFN) Vodafone Qatar, Qatar’s second telecom operator registered an 8 percent surge in its mobile subscribers to 1.4 million users for its fiscal year’s first half as opposed to last year.
However, the operator posted a USD58.4 million in gross loss for the cited period which ended in September, plus its overall income dropped 7 percent to USD290 million from 2014’s same timeframe.
In particular, Vodafone Qatar’s performance for the half-year on a y-o-y basis shows and reflects the full impact of the aggressive price competition on its customer ARPUs and revenue.
On the positive side, the firm anticipates better results in the second half based on positive trend, as users have grown by 50 percent thanks to their network improvements and competitive postpaid portfolio.
