(MENAFN) Volvo Cars Middle East’s sales and marketing director, Emre Karaer, stated that sales of the Swedish car in the Middle East surged 34 percent so far this year, reported Arabian Business.
Karaer said that Egypt recorded the best results in the region, with sales more than doubling from a year ago.
Moreover, sales in Kuwait soared 73 percent from 2011, while they grew 48 percent in Qatar and by 15 percent in the UAE.
He noted that sales in 2012 were driven by the company’s award-winning XC and S models, adding that the automaker will launch the Volvo V40 in the Middle East in 2013.
The carmaker plans to raise its market share through its 5-year ambitious plan that guarantees Volvo to grow significantly in the market, furthermore, it plans to introduce a range of superior vehicles.
