(MENAFN) Yemen will start a USD1.2 billion fund to provide jobs or compensations for thousands of south workers lost their jobs in the 1994 civil war, Arabian Business reported.
The fund aims to restore talks between the south and the north to end the long political division.
The International Cooperation Minister, Mohammed Al Sa’adi, said that Qatar pledged to contribute USD350 million to the fund. Yemen is expected to ask international lenders to cover the reamaining USD850 million.
